Chuck Brown: Head Pro



Chuck Brown has come back to Kentucky after spending a year in Mississippi, where he served as Director of Tennis for two clubs in Greenwood, Mississippi, running all their tennis programing. The focus was on USTA Team practices, group and private lessons, fast feed clinics, junior clinics, High Performance Junior Program, and all tennis pro shop needs. He also served as interim head tennis coach for the Pillow Academy Mustangs, with both the boys’ and girls’ teams winning State Championships. Coach Brown also coached senior Brady McDaniel, who won the Mississippi High School Player of the Year award in May.
Brown was the Head Tennis Coach at Transylvania University for 16 years (2000-2016). He won 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 & 2011 Heartland Conference Coach of the Year Awards, 2006 & 2007 USPTA Southern Division College Coach of the Year and 2006 & 2009 USTA Kentucky Coach of the Year. Transy’s men’s tennis team won 88 conference college matches in a row over an 8-year streak. They also won nine consecutive HCAC Championships and made six trips to the NCAA Tournament.
Brown has served as President of the USPTA Kentucky Chapter on three different two-year terms. He has also hosted and spoken at numerous USPTA tennis workshops in Kentucky and all over the country. He is taking lessons and can be reached at 859-321-9970.

Bill has taught for 35 years and has given over 40,000 hours of tennis instruction. He has been a National Trainer for Developmental Coaches for the USTA and has taught several Kentucky High School State Champions and Division 1 College All-Americans. He is the former General Manager and Head Pro for both the Wabash Valley Tennis Club in Terre Haute, IN. and the Executive Racquet Club in Owensboro, KY.
